I have inground pool. pump this season has very poor pressure. people who opened it never mentioned any problems. there is poor suction when i vacuum, sometimes one jet stops altogher. i don't know what "normal" pressure on the gauge should be. Just after backwashing, the pressure is better but than fades over the hour. any ideas?

  1. I think you had the wrong people look at your pool.  I only maintained one big pool and that was at a high rise in a big city. But the only way to know whats wrong is to have someone with the ''smarts'' to be there and look at it. Sorry but any advice i give you here would be  a dumb guess.

  2. Sounds like you may have stuff stuck in the inlet - leaves, etc.. We used a thing called a "Drain King" to blow it out.

Normal pressure depends on the filter but typical is about 10-15 psi.

Call a pool guy, he/she can fix you up.
