Question:

How can i get better sound from my home theather system?

it has a 1000w output, but the highest volume isn't as high as my old phillips (my new one is a samsung). im just wondering if i should replace the wires, cause im using the wires the speakers came with, or should i replace the speakers. also my old sub was powered and my new one isnt. thanks.

  1. I hate to say this - but you need to buy a real receiver with real speakers from a speaker company.  These "all-in-one" systems have poor quality amplification, cheap plastic speakers and usually only play DVD's.  You usually cannot change the speakers or subwoofer with these systems either.

    (sigh)

    Use a laser pointer held along side the speakers to "see" where they pointing.  Adjust the left, right, center to focus directly on the central seat.

    The receiver should have a setup menu that lets you add/subtract some volume from the center, and 2 rear speakers.  Add volume to the center a bit until voices become clearer over the sounds from the left/right speakers.
