I have 2 years no claims bonus and im 19 and only drive a little 1.4 honda civic, but my insurance premium this year is apparantly going to be £900 (cheapest quote) is there any way of lowering this utterly rediculous price?

I thought that after a couple of years driving the price was supposed to go down significantly well this is not the case.

  1. You need to ensure below to get the cheapest price

    1. Research and compare:

    2. Drop collision and comprehensive coverage:

    3. Combine your policies:

    4. Raise your deductibles:

    5. Secure your car:

    6. Ask for discounts:

    7. Drive carefully.

  2. If you have collision coverage, increase your deductible to a higher amount.  If you are allowed to do so, and feel safe doing so, drop collision.  Sell your car and get one in a lower insurance rating.

The only other thing you can do is get older, which is going to happen anyway.  Your rate will drop when you turn 24.

  3. There's an article called "Saving Hundreds of Dollars on Insurance" that I read at: http://mysite.verizon.net/ressg6c7/artic... . This article offers a few simple and common sense steps to saving money on and insurance and choosing the right company.

Definitely worth reading in my opinion.

  4. make more phone calls and search for cheaper

  5. Check this one. I heard they offer affordable insurance.

  6. The only way is to shop around for lower rates. Auto insurance companies can vary by as much as $600 per policy on an average driver. Each driver needs to find the company willing to offer the lowest rate to them based on their driving needs. The more a driver shops around for a lower rate, the better chance the driver has of saving more money. You can also consider taking a defensive driving course or traffic school to see how much one of these courses may save you. I have heard of drivers saving up to 10% for a couple of years after taking one of these courses. Just make sure you remain covered at all times and get as many quotes as you can via the Internet, telephone and talking with agents to save the most money. Also, consider raising your deductible and you may even see if you can be added to your parent's policy if you live at home to save even more money.

  7. It is the case. You just have to shop around more than just looking at two or three places, see the comparison sites, there are about 50 of them.

also phone each number in the yellow pages, do your legwork, be on it one week before paying the full wack. With that money I get 3 covers myself!
