How can i get faster?

i am about 5ft, havent started growing yet and im 14. ive started high school lacrosse and i really need to get faster. Ive been riding my bike 10 miles a day to help but it seems to only be helping my thighs, but i dont know. should i run or stay riding my bike to stay in shape and to get faster?

    Well, to get faster you need explosive energy. What you listed here has to do with stamina. Explosive energy can be obtained by plyometrics, or specialized workouts. Certain kinds of plyometric workouts can give you speed, agility, and a higher vertical leap, in a shorter amount of time than usual.

    A workout i know is one you use with a medicine ball. About 10 pounds. First you stand and hold the ball. Next you try and jump while throwing the ball in the air (as high as you can), and try to work your calves. This helps build that kind of energy by quickening the response and making your calves stronger. This can make you run faster by having your feet touch the ground in a shorter amount of time, thus gaining distances in a shorter amount of time.

    There are many, many more plyometric workouts. You can look on the web or your local newspaper for any sort of speed training. Most of it will involve plyometric workouts.
