  1. lots of exercise ( the more strenuous the better), eat less fat, sweets and starches and more veggies. also try weights t build muscle mass quick. muscles use alot more calories then fat to keep in shape, so the more you build up the less usable calories you'll have to retain the fat.

  2. good diet and lots of exercise

  3. Fitness is not about weight loss. To be fit you must have a proper diet and excercise regularly. All the stuff below sounds complicated, but it really is not. A healthy lifestyle is easy to accomplish and enjoy.

    --- --- --- ---

    DIET:

Focus on fruits. Eat a variety of fruits – whether fresh, frozen, canned or dried – rather than fruit juice for most of your fruit choices. For a 2,000 calorie diet, you will need 2 cups of fruit each day (for example, 1 small banana, 1 large orange, and 1/4 cup of dried apricots or peaches).

Vary your veggies. Eat more dark green veggies, such as broccoli, kale, and other dark leafy greens; orange veggies, such as carrots, sweetpotatoes, pumpkin, and winter squash; and beans and peas, such as pinto beans, kidney beans, black beans, garbanzo beans, split peas and lentils.

Get your calcium-rich foods. Get 3 cups of low-fat or fat-free milk – or an equivalent amount of low-fat yogurt and/or low-fat cheese (1 1/2 ounces of cheese equals one cup of milk) – every day. For kids aged 2 to 8, it's 2 cups of milk. If you don't or can't consume milk, choose lactose-free milk products and/or calcium-fortified foods and beverages.

Make half your grains whole. Eat at least 3 ounces of whole-grain cereals, breads, crackers, rice, or pasta every day. One ounce is about 1 slice of bread, 1 cup of breakfast cereal, or 1/2 cup of cooked rice or pasta. Look to see that grains such as wheat, rice, oats, or corn are referred to as 'whole' in the list of ingredients.

Go lean with protein. Choose lean meats and poultry. Bake it, broil it, or grill it. And vary your protein choices – with more fish, beans, peas, nuts and seeds.

Know the limits on fats, salt and sugars. Read the Nutrition Facts label on foods. Look for foods low in saturated fats and trans fats. Chose and prepare foods and beverages with a little salt (sodium) and/or sugars (caloric sweeteners).

One thing I do is to stock up of fresh fruits and veggies at the supermarket every week. When I come home, I chop everything up into portion-sized baggies and put it in the refrigerator. Whenever I am hungry or feel like snacking, a tasty, healthy treat is always right there, pre-prepared. This has seriously imporved my eating habits. Another way is just not to have junk food around! If you're really hungry, you'll just fix something good, instead of grabbing for those nutty bars on whim.

    Another important thing is:

have brakfast! Many people think that my skipping the first meal of the day they will burn carlories. The truth is, eating breakfast boosts your metabolism from its slow, sleeping mode to a faster rate, so a healthy breakfast will help you burn more calories just be being awake.

Also remember moderation. Try eating just the portion size on the box of just half a cup of fruit or veggies. Often we grossly overportion or food without knowing. You will be amazed how you can eat less and be full! Which reminds me: #1 rule to food is to stop when you're full!

    EXCERCISE

It is easier to be active than you might think! Walking up and down stairs, around the mall, around the block are all easy ways. when it is nice out, try to walk instead of drive when something is close by.

Another way to get your excercise in is by doing sports. Just doing push-ups or running can be boring. Play catch, have a race, don't just swim laps in the pool play a game!  Of course, this is easier for kids, teens and parents of kids and teens than people who arent. But anyone can make a game out of excercise.

Also, did you know that things many people don't think of as excercise, along with healthy eating, can improve health? Yoga, for example, improves posture, balance, stress level and breathing, and many of the excercises are good excercise as well!

    --- --- --- ---

This isn't really a 'get fit quick' sounding plan, but if you make changes to adapt a healthy lifestyle, you will indeed get fit quick! Hope this helps!
