How can i get food stamps in australia?

i want to helf a poor family but dont want to give them money lest they spend it in drinking and drugs. How can I help them. Here in the USA, we have something called the food stamps that you can only get food or grocery with. Please advise.

Sorry but there is no food stamp scheme in Australia , though some people on welfare payment have a certain amount of their payment set aside for spending on food only. But no stamps are used it is somehow done through a credit at the local store but as it hasn't been going terribly long I don't know much about it. If you know someone trustworthy who lives near them you could ask them to set up a credit at a local food shop.
