A taxi from the Sorrento station to your hotel will be approximately 45 - 50 euro. A better option is the SITA bus - there's a stop at Sorrento station and one in front of your hotel - the fare was 1 euro a few months ago.

Sorrento is a nice small town - while you're there, you can visit some of the other towns along the Amalfi coast, take the boat out to Capri, and take the train to Pompeii for the day (highly recommended). Be sure to sample the limoncello.
