  1. When you walk outside the door of the airport, the taxi rank is right in front of you, there is always taxi's there. Taxi drivers have a yellow plate attached to their roof, if a car hasnt got one of these, dont get into it. I've never heard of anyone pretending to be a taxi driver here yet anyway.

  2. Did you really ask if there were taxis at the airport????

    Are you serious?

What airport IN THE WORLD does not have taxis??? You really shouldn't travel, stay at home, it'll be much safer for everyone.

  3. Just go to the official taxi stand. Alternatively, take the Terravision bus from the aiport to the city center.

  4. ah now Josh what did you think there would be, a pony and cart?

I left Dublin over 30 years ago and there were taxies then so I'm sure there are now. Have a good time. :))

  5. get yourself a bike or walk ... haha jk ... there are cabs ;)

  6. if you'll stay in the city centre you should catch a bus, but if you'll be far from town it is easier for you to get there by taxi ( there's a taxi rank at the airport )...

  7. yes be aware of a few scams that are still being used today..I have always lived in Dublin and the scams of some unscrupulous drivers  at the airport is the stuff of legend..you never elaborated on where you are going to be staying but your best bet is to make sure you get the taxi roof sign number when you get in and write it down just in case you are not satisfied with the fare or service..the driver will always charge you at least 1 euro per item of luggage and extras depending on time of day, public holiday and distance to be travelled to your accommodation etc.. lets say for example that a hotel in the city centre  ( what we call 'town')  is usually about 25-35 euro for 2 people plus luggage..if it starts to hit the 40 mark then just mention that you have a friend working in the carraige office ( the garda police , who are the regulators of the taxi complaints) if a driver hears that you know about the carraige office, he will assume that you have been here lots of times and will be less likely to 'sting ' you...just use your head, and if you are unsure about the extras, there is a laminate on every taxi dashboard for you to read and  they have to display it, also make sure you get a receipt..( just in case) I hope you have a wonderful stay here and please note that there is only a tiny minority of drivers who will try to 'sting' tourists..
