How can i get grease from a bike chain out of the carpet???

the grease came from a bike chain. i need to know house hold items

I suggest that you try your standard diswashinh fliud soap.it gets rid of grease and nasty stuff on pots and pans and in this case willo help remove the grease stains on your carpet.

There is also a product called purple power, you can find it at most auto parts stores.

Eucalyptus oil works really well it also removes tar,just rub it in and wash the area with detergent afterwards.

Don't know if you'll be able to. If you have any excess carpet, a carpet installer could cut out the damaged area & seam in a new peice. There is also a product called Afta by gaurdsman that might remove the grease. Make sure you work the spot inwards so you don't make it larger.

Have you tried Goo Gone?  This has worked for me before when a plumber dragged a greasy piece of equipment up my white carpeted stairs.  The grease stain was completely gone!  You can buy Goo Gone at any home improvement store and possibly even Target/Walmart.  Good luck.
