i'm nearly 14 and play soccer for my local youth team, but in 3 seasons i have never scored a goal. i am good at shooting from distance and i can also score curlers and sometimes one on ones. i can do all these in training but never in matches. the other day i realised it was because i hadn't really had many chances how can i make more?

  1. goalhang

  2. You have to play yor role and only your role if not then change your position.

  3. your better off to keep shots low and hard! tries lots of one and twos  around the area and make forward runs and create space! also tell your team to watch you when passing to see your position for a shot!

  4. The important thing is to shoot as soon as you get the chance. A bad quick shot is better than a good shot where you give the goalie time to prepare. Also, on corners it is a good idea to position yourself outside or around the 18 yard line even with a post. The ball often gets deflected to this area. You also get time to shoot when switching the field (passing the ball from one side to the other) because the defense does not all switch at the same speed and holes open up.

  5. it depends on what position you play on the wings then try learn how to  create space but if you play and other position prove your coach that you can take free kicks. and as stevie g says. don't picture beating the keeper picture destroying the keeper

  6. Well yeah it matters what position you play. If you're a midfielder, you should push up whenever you have a good chance to. Be near the goal basically, so people will pass to you so you can complete the play. Same method with attackers, be ready to get a pass at any time and realize the defenders will NOT give you breathing space, so you should take shots quickly.

  7. It depends on what formation you are using and what position you play. If you are mid-field try to get the ball in the corners and then push-up, they cross it to the middle and you will have a chance to score. If you are forward then your best chance is to push-up the middle and try to get behind the defenders. Or do what you should as a midfielder and switch midfielder with forward.

  8. Not only should you ask your coach to position you in a space where you are more likely to score, but also you should practice moves, like "fake-outs" that's what i call them. You pretend your going one way with the ball, and then you go the other. Try having one of your teammates assist you on a goal!
