If you both have access to technology, perhaps you could email each other, talk on the phone, instant message, ect. If you don't, perhaps you could write each other hand written letters and send them snail mail. Or perhaps he has a facebook or myspace page you could check out. Do you know his name? Could you just ask your parents about him? Or is it against tradition to do so.

If you don't want to marry him, and wish you were not going to have an arranged marriage, you should stand up for yourself and not get married. I don't know which culture you are from yourself though. I dont' know what the consequences would be. However, remember life is precious and it doesn't last very long, so live your life the way you want to.
