How can i get inspired to actually get off my butt and get some work done?

I have stopped drinking, but i still smoke here and there because it relaxes me, i really have no motivation.

  1. Go get a dead end job that pays minimum wage. After a while, you'll do anything to assure you are not stuck there for life, even cut out the smoking and drinking. We call this the fire at the bottom of the latter. You will climb faster.

         Also, remember that smoking anything robs you of oxygen and depletes your energy. Too much tobacco smoke disrupts your sleep patterns and causes fatigue. Besides, if you are not motivated then you are too relaxed already. Drinking, same deal: it lowers your body's ability to absorb nutrients. The result is you feel like lump.

       Now if by smoking you mean weed, you should know that you have never heard anyone say, "Now that I am high I feel so mentally sharp and motivated, let's study!", for a reason. That simply is not a side effect of the cannabis plant.

        This sounds simple, but if you make sure to eat your 5 servings of fruit and veg every day, take light exercise when you feel low or stressed, avoid putting unnecessary chemicals in your body and sleep on a schedule, you'll feel better in no time.

  3. Change your focus. You're bored because you're exposing yourself to boring things. Does chemistry excite you? Nature? Art? Focus on those areas

  4. weed is definitely a motivation decrease. try cutting back on smoking until you get your stuff done. make smoking your reward for getting your studies done.

  5. Well, no one is going to do it but you and the sooner the better. Just get it done, and the rest of the time is yours.

  6. Therein lies your mistake: thinking you have to be inspired to get work done.

    Most work that is done isn't because a person has some inspiration or feels really motivated to do it. It simply has to be done. So do it. Each day, get up, eat breakfast and all that, then sit down and decide what you want to accomplish that day. Then do it. You don't have to want to do it, you don't have to feel like doing, you just make yourself do it.

  7. So I take it you're in high school and do homeschooling?

    I guess the 420 does not help you.  Quitting would be good.

    What do you want, the carrot or the stick?  What are the consequences if you fail?  That would be your fear motivation.  What do you hope to accomplish?  That would be your carrot motivation.  Break your work into chunks and take breaks in between so you don't tire yourself out.  Give yourself a small reward for getting things done.

    And get off the computer and go to work!
