  1. COBRA may be your best answer in this case. You don't know if you will be able to find a job that will offer insurance and if you do find a job that has insurance, there will (most likely) be a waiting period of 30-90 days before you will be eligible. Once you are eligible for the new insurance through your new employer, there will not be a waiting period for coverage of your pregnancy.

If it has been several weeks since you lost your job, it would be a good idea to contact your old insurance to see if they have been notified of your termination yet-just to be sure the COBRA paperwork is in the works. You can ask at that point also, how much it will cost. If it's something you can't afford, you may be able to qualify for medicaid in your state. Being pregnant allows you to have more income than would usually be allowed. Contact or google your state and medicaid to see if they have info on the guidelines.
