  1. Most clubs will have started pre season traing go to your local club & tell them you would like to train with a view to playing they will be most welcoming. I started @ 11 & played for the same club for 26 years & now I live 100 miles away I still go & watch 11 after years  I retired. It is like a family to me.

  2. find a local club. they are always looking for new players.

may not be so easy to find, but with the internet these days, it really shouldnt be a problem.

  3. I am 22 and i am in a similar boat to you, even though i have played rugby, i stopped for the last 6 years and i really want to get back into playing.

My best advice for you would be to join a local rugby team, they are always willing to accept new players and even though you won't be playing on the first team you can definitely get experience from the training and getting involved with the less important games. Try a local rugby club and ask if they know of any teams that you could join. Good luck to you.

  4. Join a club, they should be pretty open to fresh meat! :D

  5. Go to your local Rugby club.

    Find it on www.rfu.com/goplayrugby

Give one of the club officials a call and find out when pre-season training starts. Most clubs won't have started yet, some might though.

If you get down in time for pre-season then they'll have you prepared to start the season.

The best thing about Rugby culture is that you'll be welcomed into the team from the start.

  6. its never too late to play, some of the best players started in their college years, highschool rugby is only really just getting its big start across the us. if your from the US go to usarugby.org and on the left side theres a link that says "find a club" where you can search for one near you, dont be afraid to contact someone by phone, and if your too shy just email clubs always look for new players willing to learn and play with them! good luck

  7. join your local club they won't refuse anyone!! no matter what age you are or if you have played before or not!!

  8. find out where your local rugby are , and go along and register. and enjoy the game ........

  9. That's not to late to learn at all.  We have guys on our team that didn't start playing until they were in their 40's (although that IS a little to late if you want to play high level rugby).  It would have really helped if you would have provided the city in which you live.  As you didn't do that, go to this Wikipedia page:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rugby_union...

Find your Local Area Union.  If the link isn't there, Google the name (usually your state) + rugby.  Find your local rugby club.  Find out when practice is and show up.  I usually suggest contacting the club president, captain, or coach beforehand so they know you are coming.

  10. No not at all. Most professional athletes start playing rugby at the young ages( 4, 5 ,6 years of age). I didnt start playing rugby untill i got to my secondary school(High school). I started playing in the september and the next year in June I got england trials. Unfortunately i didnt get through but that may not be the case with you as you are older than me and most probaly more physicaly able than me. I was 11 when i started and the best in my county/state. Clubs on the other hand may see this as freshness as they will not know what you will bring. If you do turn up to training be quiet all the time while the manager/ coaches are talking. While you are passing or playing a match be very comunicative with your teamates I hope you have found this useful

  11. join a club and they'll teach you. But if you feel like your not getting it straight away don't worry. It does take time. It took me almost a season until the coach realized my best position would be a forward flanker
