How can i get license renewed without proof of birth?

Question

I need to renew my license & since they changed the law, they need to see your birth certificate. I cannot find my birth certificate & am trying to get a copy. When you ask for a copy of birth certificate, they ask for a valid license. WHAT THE HEY!! WHAT DO I DO?

you should be able to get other proof of who you are. Like a loan paperwork, bank statements, pay stub

go to your town hall and get a dulpacate birth certificate and go to the Socal securty office and get a Socal securty card and bring that with you bring a pay stub from your work or a piece of mail that has you name and you address and telephone number then if you have a file drawer in your house you shoul always keep it in your records for all times you dont know when you will ever need it but you will always have it.

Unfortunately, it's because of all the identity theft & whatnot. The same thing happened to me, except it was that I didn't have anything with a picture on it - FRUSTRATING!

Anyways, the only thing you can do is go back to the lisence place, and they should be able to give you this big long form.. you have to fill a bunch of random things out, and then get your like.. family doctor/lawyer/someone like that to fill a bunch of stuff out for you and then bring it back to the lisence place - it's a major hassle!

Or the only other possibility I could think of would be if your parents are still around, they might be able to apply for a copy of your birth certificate? I don't know much about that though, you'd have to check it out.. I do know that it might be a while though - new babies trying to get a birth certificate these days have to wait 6 months!! Crazy, but anyways.

Yeah, so they should give you this big long form, and that will be "acceptable"..

You do not need a driver's license to obtain a birth certificate.  The certificating agency (typically, Bureau of Vital Statistics) will cough one up if you give them your name, your parents' names, where and when you were born, and about fifteen bucks.
