  1. I hope you did good on ACT and SAT. If you prove your intellect, usually through grades, honors programs, excelling, high ACT scores, a college will give you an academic scholarship. Also there are state grants that are awarded. These are FREE MONEY so get as much as you can

Loans - usually you can get up to 10,000 a year pretty easily if you have a co-signer (probably parents)

    FILL OUT YOUR FAFSA

Here's my situation: My parents make enough where I can't get c**p from the government or any need based whatsoever, but my dad sucks with finances so I don't get a penny. I can still afford Duquesne University (34k a year). I'm getting about 12,000 in academic scholarship, 4,000 in athletic, a job which pays for books and some tuition, and the rest is all loans. If your "poor" then MAKE SURE TO FILL OUT FAFSA - you will get the BEST loans through there.

  2. being white has nothing to do with money for college.. don't listen to what people tell you... if you don't have money.. and you are poor..then you actually qualify for more aid.. you have to fill out the fafsa on fafsa.ed.gov.. I did it on my own- so can you... you may have to do this on your own.. and it will pay off in the end....

community college is not too expensive.. get a waitress job and start saving money..

you can make it in life.. you don't have to try..if you put your mind to it.. be positive...fill out the form.. look into every form of aid..

  3. Being white has nothing to do with financial aid. Really depends on how much your parents are making and what assets they have. Talk to the financial aid office and see what they can do. Who knows, you might get a free ride from the government for community college and also qualify for some extra grants. Just remember to spend it wisely.

  4. Stop the self pity, stand up and get a job to pay for school...any job..

    Good Luck

  5. Apply for as many scholarships as possible.  You can also apply for government grants and loans.  Since you are 16 you still have plenty of time to get as many scholarships together that you can.  Google local scholarships in your area, write the essays and submit.  You never know.
