How can i get motivated before games?

can can i get motivated before my basketball games, so that i can stay focused and play my best?

  1. Think of something exciting that's going to perhaps happen after the game.  Like if you have someone you like.  Think of this wonderful person during the game in how you are going to see this person after the game.


  2. think about something that you really like. like your girlfriend or boyfriend. or drink a monster energy drink. those really get me going before a soccer  game... hope i helped. and good luck!

  3. Don't drink a "Monster" energy drink, they have roughly 300mg of caffeine.  You will feel great for about 20 minutes and then will feel like c**p the whole rest of the game.

    Find some music you like and put your iPod to use.  Establish a consistent pre-game routine (like getting dressed in a certain order, eat the same foods, stretch out the same way every time, etc.) and stick to it.  There are lots of ways to get into your zone before a game.  Experiment with some and see what works for you.

  4. I usually just listen to my music on my Ipod that I like that gets me pumped.

    Just focus during your warmups you practice like you play. If you do good in warmups you will usually do good in your game.

  5. my opinion.... if you need help getting motivated, then you've chosen the wrong path.  sports just simply aren't for you.  if the idea of competing, winning, and giving your best effort to help your team be successful isn't enough, then it's time to give it up.

  8. umm drink red bull, find music that gets you pumped, like Metallica works for me, get nervous, and relax......a focused mind is quicker and more effective.

Warm up exercises are good for getting adrenaline and heart rate up and clearing your mind.  Focus on getting your body ready for competition and sweep out both doubt and vanity, both will just impede peak performance.  Your mind should be on your game plan and your self-confidence should be a quiet truth behind your plan.
