How can i get my cat to stop biting me?

My cat is about 8 months old and he bites my family alot. he's really cute but the biting is un-bearable. help me!

put your thumb on the roof of its mouth and press lightly, but hard enough he won't bite.my dog did that to me but when I did that, he stopped!best of luck!

i know what you feel like. my kitten does that too it is being playful but what you should do is tap him/her on the nose not too hard! and say NO (name) eventually the cat will stop hope i helped

My sis-in-law told me that when you play with them, have a toy near by so when he/she may go to bite, you give it the toy to bite instead. Besides, it's still a kitten. They are supposed to bite. It's their way of playing.

water in a spray bottle....but not the stream setting just a light squirt....saved my life with my sister stupid little boston terrier.... they learn not to do it and its safe

You need to watch YouTube's Mean Kitty. Mr.Safety explains your problem perfectly. Just type in Mean Kitty. Kittens play rough but they outgrow it. They have to know how to take down and kill their dinner in the wild.

Stop petting him as soon as he bites.  Do not ruff house with him  like wrestle.  It is fun but reinforces that type of behavior.   Make sure he giets neutered and this will lower  his aggression as well.  I have a very aggressive yet lovable cat.  I can not play rough with him.  Just gentleness.  Males can get overly aggressive when over stimulated.

My cat use to be the same way. Next time he bites you, pat his nose pretty hard (haha not a slap but but hit him hard enough) and then point right in his face and firmly say NO. Once you start doing that enough, when he goes to bite you, all youll have to do is point and h**l back off, cause he knows the slap comes with the finger.
