  1. We're living in a broadband world; the internet is no longer tailored for people who for who-knows-what-reason are still using dial-up in 2008.

If you have Qwest in your area, there are DSL plans that start at $20/mo.  You won't get a very fast connection for that price, but it'll still be 5-6 times faster than what you have.

The simple answer is: you can't watch streaming videos on dial-up, so don't even try.

  2. Dial up is notoriously slow.  Really, there's nothing you can do unless you can re-wire your phone lines through your neighborhood.  Since the info has to go through the phone lines and then to your computer, you're limited by your computer and by your neighborhood phonelines.

  3. Switch to DSL.  The cost between dial up and DSL is surprisingly small.

    Check into it.

  4. Apart from the answers above the only other thing you can do is move closer to the exchange but even then, it wont get much faster.

move to dsl, it might cost a bit more but for the less hassle and faster speeds (h**l of a lot faster), you won't really notice the difference.

  5. Cant Make Dial Up Any Faster then 56Kbps its like dedicated!

  6. Lol dial up? Thats like having one of those first cars that

you had to turn the thing around to get it started!

Get rid of dial up, nowadays high speed internet is available everywhere.

    Cable, DSL, Satellite
