  1. Well, one of the best ways to study is to review every day. When you get home, pull out your notes from your classes, and go over what your teacher told you. This will help solidify the knowledge your brain. Then whip out your textbooks, and try some of the homework problems. This will help you learn how to use that knowledge.

When a test comes around, do the same thing again.

My biggest tip: don't wait 'til the last minute to do stuff (if you do, it'll be rushed and won't turn out as well - this includes studying, projects, etc).

Also, don't stress about it. Make studying as fun as you can - do it with friends, with your favorite music. If you learn to hate studying, you won't get anything out of it. Make it part of your daily routine (habits take about 30 days in a row before it officially becomes a habit) and pride yourself in being the best student of the class!

If you need motivation, try thinking of your favorite movie or book series, and pretend to be the braniac from that. I pretend to be Hermione all the time, to make it a bit more fun. (I'm insane, I know. :P)

Good luck getting into your college!

  3. Effective Study Strategies

Read the text assignments before going to class.

Sit in the front of the classroom.

Write down clear directions for all assignments.

Focus on what the teacher is saying, not how.

    Scan reading materials before reading.

    Type papers when possible.

Develop mnemonics (memory cues) when possible.

Keep a calendar of major events including tests, deadlines, etc.

Set up a study area for that purpose only.

Work on one assignment at a time.

Keep all the supplies and materials you need readily available.

Take periodic breaks (5-10 minutes each hour.)

Underline major points in your notes.

Get together study groups to review before tests.

Pay special attention to the first and last five minutes of the class.

Ask questions if you don’t understand.

Several shorter study periods are better than one long one.

Break-up large assignments into a number of small tasks.

Get a good night’s rest before an exam.

Read through the entire exam before beginning.

    Answer the easiest questions first.

Pace yourself to allow adequate time for each question

Type up notes as soon as possible.

Use five-minute blocks of time to review notes.

  4. My main things are to pay attention in class and take really good notes, do all the homework and look at all the examples in the book thoroughly, ask questions when you don't understand, and don't be afraid to talk to the teacher outside of class.

I always set aside a few hours the day before an exam and the day of (im in college, so i usually have some time before an exam). You may want to set aside time 2 days before and then study again the day before. Then you'll know better what you need to study and what you already know.

    Good luck in school!

  5. you should have some friends come over and you guys should have a study party! you guys study and then all you friends go over it and then if someone get an answer wrong, there out, and then the person at the end wins the game!

    good luck

  6. Don't cram! Space everything out, an hour day. Read chapter b4 the teacher goes over it in class. If you don't get something stop and don't proceed until you understand, especially in a subject where the concepts build on another. Pay attention in class. Those couple of things helped me in college, sometimes you gotta study how to study.

  7. from the things i learned from first year university experience i find notetaking most helpful. use different resources to study like internet, library. sometimes concepts are not clear just by reading your text book. if you have a question try and find the answer and dont leave it for later. and catch up with homework and readings from your textbooks.
