  1. start slowly first giving it treats to petting it and then after a few days or something just pick her up for like 2 second then put her down and repeat that until you can just pick her up.

  2. You need to take it out and play with it. give your hamster apple and carrot. fruits and veg. they love it.

  3. try to hand feed her. but do not try to pick or pat him untill he gets comfortable with u. try to give her treats such as fresh fruit and vegitables to her by ur hand. if u keep doing this for several days, she will be more comfortable with u and let u pet him or hold him.

  4. Play with her.  Put food on your hand and let her eat it.:)

  5. Don't reach for her, have her come to you by giving her a little piece of fruit or a sunflower seed. Soon she'll get used to you and come to you and you can pick her up.

  6. well after having the hamster for only onee day, it certainly doesnt know you very well. my advice would be to let it get to know you, as it's new owner. get it a wheel. take good care of it..and FEED IT LOTS OF CELERY. CELERY IS THE KEY. and give its carrots only on the weekends...

  7. two words: LOVE & AFFECTION.

  8. You have to gain it's trust first.

-Allow your hamster to sit in its cage for a few hours when you first bring it home. Then place a treat in your hand. Keep doing this until your hamster comes up and accepts it. When they accept it several times they will eventually climb on to eat it. Slowly and while they are completely focused on the food, lift them in to the air and lay them on your lap with a good hold still on them and stroke their fur. Then place them gently in the cage. This creates a trust bond.

-After you and your hamster have mastered this, place a treat over their head and make them come and get it. Every time say "stand" and eventually your hamster will stand when you say stand and there is no treat. Remember to give them a reward afterwards. You can do this with other tricks like "paw" only putting the treat in front of them so that they have to reach out and get it. You can do it with "come" or "stay" and basically any trick. This teaches them about you and you about them also creating a stronger trust between you as well as learning some new tricks.

-Use body language as an indicator of your hamster's state of health and happiness. Body language will tell you a lot about your hamster and what he or she is thinking. The following steps will help you to find out what you're trying to know.

-Check the eyes and ears; if they are alert or looking around, your hamster has just seen or heard something of interest. If they are laid back and half closed, your hamster is tired and you should let it sleep.

Check its body. If it is standing on two legs, motionless it hears and sees something and is standing to get a better look! If it is curled up in a ball your hamster is tired... again!

-Finally check its behavior. Squealing is usually a bad sign. It could be your hamster is angry, annoyed, scared or in pain. Check for illness or other possible causes. Gnawing constantly on the cage means that your hamster needs something to chew on, it is bored or stressed. If your hamster runs A LOT stops , looks around frantically, ferociously grooms itself and keeps doing it, your hamster may be bored stressed, wanting to exercise, anxious or flustered. Give him/her something to do and make sure there isn't anything stressing him or her out! Yawning and stretching is good. It means they are content or just had a very good sleep. Also you should always check on your hamster to make sure he/she is ok.Hamster are one of the most sensitive a pets if your hamster has been coughing you should take it to the vet because that can turn in to a serios problem .

    Tips:

Remember to speak to your hamster and soothe them with your voice.

There is a difference between taming and training. Taming is creating a bond, communicating and teaching each other. This will be harder then training for the hamster and you, so go more easy on them then you normally would while training.

If you develop a strong bond with your hamster (by giving it lots of love and attention) it will be easier for you to figure out what it is trying to tell you.

Hamsters live for attention! also sometimes they can be very agresive so treat them as your own child.I have a hamster to your not too forget about your hamster.

Remember don't get mad at your hamster or don't yell at he/she because it will scare them and they will always be afraid of you and you don't want that too happen.
