How can i get my jungle carpet python to switch from eating mice to rats--8i tried but he will not eat the rat

the snake is 3 ft -eats well but seems to be picky when it comes to rats--oh and y does he keep bitting me --i dont feed him in the same cage and i handle him alot --still bite -kinda hurts

be persistent with handling him every day, there are two techniques for the rat problem, try rubbing a mouse all over the rat the first time and if he takes it he will be on rats, the second is gross, you squish the mouse's head onto the rat and a liquid will come out that smells very good to the snake

Easiest way is to chase the mouse with a rat.  May have to do it over several feedings, but it always works for me...

While he's eating a mouse, just about to finish, put a small rat(obviously prekilled) in his mouth.  Eventually, he'll get used to the taste...

like I said, has worked for me every time...
