How can i get my kid to play to sing the star spangled banner?

Well, my son is graduating from pre-school, and during his graduation the kids are gonna sing the star spangled banner. And the parents are spose to teach the song to their kids.

Well I haven't been having much luck, he doesn't want any part of it.

And my little sister plays the flute, and knows the star spangled banner by heart because of her school football games. Just mentioning.

anyways, any fun way I could help him learn the song. and the graduation is on Friday.

any tips?

Maybe your pre-schooler is smarter than us big people and he knows how screwed up we have made this country and the world. Maybe he instinctively knows how the War in Iraq was a farce from the beginning and he is showing his TRUE patriotism by not taking part in the facade.

I would probably purchase a cd for them to listen to.. you'll probably be able to find a cd with kids songs on it at walmart that will also have the star bangled banner for pretty cheap. singing along with him will probably encourage him. also, rewards for learning it never hurt =]

Play the song over and over and over. He'll probably pick it up without even knowing it.

offer him money, tell him you will give him up for adoption if he doesnt sing, or just tell him to lip sing it nobody can tell the difference.

You could say like if he or she learns the whole song they can have a treat like a cupcake or 2 cookies or somehow you could bribe them!!

Let him learn in parts.

First sing

Oh say can you see,

Then, once he remembers it, teach him

By the dawns early light.

And then, when He remembers that, tell him to sing it all together.

Oh say can you see, by the dawns early light.

Give him a new toy when he learns the whole song.

If he doesn't behave, say that you won't love him anymore or something.
