How can i get my laptop to go faster?

I have a pretty much brand new macbook, its always been so slow when it was hooked up to my wireless at home, i took it on vacation and used a wireless connection from there and it was lightning fast, the connection i had on vacation was very weak and the connection i have at home is really strong. im assuming its my connection, how can i switch things aroung with my wireless to make my laptop faster?

  1. when you were on vacation your laptop would have "found" the wireless connection.

    So now you are home, delete the connection and let the laptop find it.

    if still slow then contact your ISP and sort it out with them.


  2. Defragmenting your laptop at least once a week will make it run faster.

    I am not a mac user, but it should be listed under 'system tools' and then click disk defragment.

  3. you can install Tuneup utilities 2008

    it will examine and fix all windows problems

    also you may use Hijackthis to see if any process is running and slowing your machine

    Below can help you speed up your pc:

    I. De-Fragmenting

    1. Right click of C Disk.

    2. Click properties.

    3. Click tools tab.

    4. Click "Defragment now".

    5. Click Defragment.

    II. You can search which process full use you cpu, and end the process.

    Under steps:

    1. Right click on the TaskBar.

    2. Click the Task Manager.

    3. Click the processes tab.

    4. Double click the CPU.

    5. Fnd if the "System Idle Process" is max.

    6. If not right click and click end process.

    III. Manage your startups. Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how:

    1. Open your Start menu.

    2. Click Run

    3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe"

    4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab

    5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using.

    6. Click "OK"
