How can i get my lawn weed free and green?

is there any kind of weed and feed that you put on your lawn this late in the season? i would like to use something environmentally friendly because i have a dog. any suggestions?

I used the weed and feed lawn fertilizer. You just hook it to your water house and it creates a sprinkler. VERY GOOD STUFF> I have used several brands and all of them work well! You can find them at Walmart for about $5 a piece. The best....I can't remember the name but it's in a grey bottle.

Scotts makes a summerguard weed and feed that is great.  Also it is pet friendly once it has been watered.  Also to achieve a dark green color in your lawn you need iron.  There is a product caller ironiate that comes in liquid that you just hook up to your water hose and spray on the lawn.  LOWE'S sells both of these products.
