  1. There are many sprinting drills that can assist you.  There is:

    - A skip

    - B Skip

    - Straight leg shuffle

    - Ankling

    - butt flick

    - high knees, etc.

The most important thing is to keep the foot dorsi-flexed (pulled up towards you) so you land on the balls of your feet (not toes) and that you are striking close to underneath your hips and not reaching.  Often people over stride and this is inefficient as each foot strike is like a brake.  My favourite activity is to do a straight leg shuffle and bound away and get my legs further apart until eventually I want to run with bent legs rather than straight leg.  As your foot will be in its right position when striking the ground, over striding will be kept to a minimum.

  2. To get the right length, time yourself running a couple of times, each time widening your length of your legs and try to go fast too.

Find the time which is easiest and fastest with the length of your legs.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Your stride length is determined by how much muscle force you have at ground contact and how fast you apply it. It's not something you correct it is a matter of getting stronger so you can apply more force to the ground in shorter period of time.
