How can i get my local cable company to run cable about 2000 ft from the end of my road to my house for intern

theres no other way for me to get internet besides dialup or sattelite and i want xbox live.

The sad part is, they will be glad to if you have the money to pay for the cable, the workmen, and the trenching cost or pole setting cost.  It is unreal how much they will want.  Is there a wireless broadband provider in your area?  It works well and is low latency if installed correctly.  Check on DSLReports.com and click on the Find Service tab.

I had the same problem a few years back lol. What to do is get a petition from everyone on your street saying that they would "consider" not buy or use, but only "CONSIDER" using the same ISP as you want. If you get enough people from your street and with a bit of hounding your ISP will cave in.

I had to do this when telewest first came onto the scene and I ended up getting them to install broadband to my entire street even though no-one else bothered to move from dial-up for at least 2 years after I had.

It does work you just have to make sure your neighbors understand that they have to tell the ISP reps that they would think about buying it, even if they have no intent of doing so they still need to tell the ISP.

Did you ask them about it?  They might do it free of charge, but I kind of doubt it.  I know they would do it for a fee.  It's probably just a matter of talking to them, finding out what the fee is and deciding whether or not you want to pay it.
