My hamster just died ( died in her sleep :( ) and i want a rabbit instead of a new hamster. I'm too upset about my previous hamster get another hamster, so i decided a rabbit would be great. My mom and dad of curse said no. So...i wrote them a 5 paragraph persuasive letter and they still turned me down. So i gave them an informational paper from the internet and they turned me down again/ I then decided to start claning the house and other stuff so i bathed my dog and took him for a walk. Dusted the house except my bro's room, vacumed the whole house, took the recycling out, did the dishes, made the beds, cleaned and rearanged stuff in the house, and a lil more. Basically i did a lot and i actually stayed up all night doing it. As you can see i've been working my butt off and its not getting to them. All my mom says is thank you...but i was hoping for a reward you know what i mean. I am even researching things about caring for rabbits and making sure iknow my stuff. I don't get what i can do to get them to say yes. They said they wouldn't even get me a rabbit for my 13th birthday which is a few months away. I wanted a rabbit as an early birthday gift...don't you think that would be a good idea especially since i did all that work. So plz tell me if i'm doing anything wrong what i could do to make them say yes...i really need help thanx!!!

  1. Make a contract that states how you will ALWAYS take care of the rabbit: cleaning the cage, feeding it, playing with it on a regular basis, etc. Sign the contract and let them know that if you break any of the conditions you, are willing to pay the consequences (like...no computer for a day or something.) Good luck.

  2. This is what you're doing wrong: You expect that if you whatever, your parents are just going to reward you with whatever you want. I'm sorry, the world doesn't work that way. I'm not trying to be mean, but more realistic.

Ask them why you can't have one. Maybe they think you didn't take good care of your hamster and it died even if it died in it's sleep. Maybe it's because you already have a dog and don't need anymore pets. Maybe it's because they don't want pay for all those bills like food, medical care, etc. It easily turns out to a few thousand a year. Another reason is because rabbits give off a bed natural odor even if you clean them and everything. (That's why my mom wouldn't let me have one.)

Not to mention they easily get loose, (There goes your money!), and they may multiple like crazy! (Trust me, you aren't going to be making money off of them.)

The only thing you can do now is ask if you can have one if you pay for everything for your rabbit-The rabbit itself, the medical bills, food, and everything. That will surely teach you responsibility. Either that, or try next year. Don't bug them too much about it or they might yell at you and get you in even more trouble.
