she's saying she wants whats best for me...but she doesn't listen to me when i tell her i did my research and Connections Academy is better then regular school..i already told her that my stress would be reduced, I'd have a chance to pick up my grades, they'll be no distractions and stuff, but she says its all part of life..i dont want to do it for the rest of highschool, i just want to do it the rest of this year because theres so much going on right now...she also says she wants me to be with my friends because i always smile when im with them and stuff, but i can be with them after school or on the weekends...she doesnt get it. and on top of that my vice principal is convincing her all my problems will be solved if i stay after school everyday the rest of this year so i can do all my homework..when im in class i get distracted...when im at home i'm distracted...either way i'm distracted, and if it was online i know i can focus, because i can actually go back for help if i need it.

  1. well i was in your exact situation last year.  ultimatelty, i put up such a fuss that my mom was going to let me do it, but then i decided not to. its important to consider how many years of schooling you have left. i only had a year left (im graduated now) if you are 10th or earlier, i strongly recommend you stay in school.  a lot of these programs claim you can learn online easy and quickly, but that's not true. i'm really glad I made the decision to stay in school and if anything, I would advise you to at least stick with it until next year. maybe next year youll have better teachers or if you don't then you can make the choice for homeschooling. college is another thing to consider, its hard to prove homeschool credentials to them.

  2. My mom did the same thing, and most parents won't let you be home schooled because you live near schools, that's how a lot of parents think. The only reason I'm home schooled is because the school is paying for it, because I'm sick and not able to go into school... (I only actually went into my school about 1 week this year, because I'm ill.)

Please take note, home schooling is very expensive. A proper tutor, unless someone is willing to do it for free, and knows the stuff for a-z, can be about 20 dollars an hour.

The curriculum is 1000 dollars, per year... And it doesn't make it less stressful, its just as stressful, you have the same glasses, and can't miss a project because you felt like it. You have no friends to talk to, I guess stuff is explained better but that's about it.
