How can i get my mom to let me pierce my tongue?

ok so im pretty much your avergae teen

im not emo or gothic or anything

but i listen to tokio hotel or w.ev && its kinda been bugging my mom

the lead singer has a tongue piercing && now i want one!

im just scared shes gonna go crazy on me bekuz shell think i wanna be like him or emo or w.ev.

ask her... If she says no, then she says no, and you'll get over wanting one.  You can always get one later when you are older.

Think about WHY you want one though... because she is probably going to ask why.

tongue piercings are grose and are no good for your teeth.

ty and convince her by telling her it doesnt harm any nerves etc (evan though it does...it kills them) and show her some pics from the web of really good looking tongue piercings

IF your mom is deadset on the answer no,I doubt any kind of finess will get her to change her mind. There are all kinds of risks with getting your tongue pierced...more so than pretty much any other piercing. You have a big vain in your tongue and if they hit that while piercing it you could bleed to death within no time.Also it could get infected which can make your SERIOUSLY ill and possibly be hospitalized for a prolonged amount of time until the infection is gone(and if the infection gets bad enough you could very possibly lose your tongue or at least use of it)...among other possibilities. In fact most the people I know who have gotten their tongue pierced either ended up takin it out willingly or because it started to get infected...so it was a waste of time,money,and pain that wasn't even needed.

I do have mine pierced and was one of the lucky people who didn't have a problem with it but when I first got it done it swelled so bad that all I could take for the pain was a bottle of children's motrin per day and trust me it gets expensive after the first 3 days to buy that stuff all the time,and it swelled so bad that I could not talk because my tongue took up my entire mouth...after that tho it wasn't that bad. For some people it also ruins their teeth because it rubs the enamel off of your teeth and damages them(you also can suck on it while you are asleep and it will cause a permanent dent in the roof of your mouth,I have one trust me I know) you can also take a chance of the one of the balls coming loose and swallowing it or the entire tongue ring. These are all probably things your mother has thought of and made her decision based upon them which I don't blame her because not everyone who gets their tongue pierced are lucky enough to not have problems with it.

Just wait until you are old enough to get it done without having a parents consent...if you really want one bad enough then it shouldn't be a problem waiting for it...who knows you might change your mind about it by then.
