How can i get my moto razr v3 to connect and be recognized on my computer?

it always has hardware connection failure and my computer will not recognize it. i wanted to upload songs to it cause its supposed to be a music phone from verizon. how do i get my computer to recognize it???

  1. power cycle the phone the phone while plugged in via usb good to go
