  1. By showing responsability that you can keep a dog. I would raise the money yourself to show that you are dedicated to getting a dog. They don't want you getting a dog, and a couple years later dumping it on the streets.

Don't get small dogs, bunch of weenies that bark a lot. Weiner dogs are the coolest small dogs. Bigger Dogs like Labs and Retrievers are very good dogs for training, and to exercise with.

Don't want a hiper dog, that's the majority of small dogs. Lay out a long term plan with the money up-front with your thoughts on a dog.

Also getting good grades helps, and would work in your favor to making them make a case.

  2. whenever i wanted a pet, i would just get it and bring it home, then tell them i got it for free from a friend and i had to save it from the animal shelter...

  3. you dont want a "morkie" or a "maltipoo"  those are just overpriced mutts.

Ask your parents..  if they say "no"  then suck it up and wait until you grow up, and have a job and your own place.

  4. I'd prove to them I am responsible. If you have chores, do them on time. If you don't have chores, ask for some.

Make sure you are ready to feed it, walk it, brush it, and make sure you are willing to take time to spend with it...

Choose  a breed or two you really like then read up a lot on them, to show your parents you have put some research time in learning about dogs.

Maybe you can ask them for chores that they could pay you for so you could earn the money to pay for dog food.

And as far as those breeds go, they are all very expensive. Perhaps you might be able to do with a mutt from the pound? That is where all the very best dogs come from.

Anyway, do a lot of research on dogs so your parents know you are willing to work hard to get to know your responsibilities.

  5. Just explain to them the good things about the puppy and then tell then that you'll take full responsibility for it.

It might work, that's how I got mine!

  6. tell them that he's small u will feed him take care of him and potty train him and tell them u will do choor's to earn back the money show them how responsible u can be

  7. Their house, their rules.

Are you going to take the time to train and fulfill the needs of a puppy? Puppies need constant attention and care, they can't be left alone too long. Are you going to pay for shots, worming, neutering/spaying, other medical bills? Are you going to take it on walks and feed him? Are you going to find housing/care for it when you go out of town? Are you going to take care of him if he has medical deficiencies? Are you going to pay for grooming or groom him yourself? Are you going to learn how to groom them so you don't hurt them?

Your parents have their reasons for saying no, respect them.

Also, have you researched any of those dogs? Have you researched to see what dog fits your lifestyle? Have you looked to see those dogs history/health risks? Maybe if you showed more dedication your parents might think you are responsible and serious about a dog.

A animal is not a pet, when you bring one into your life they are your family and responsibility. They aren't just cute balls of fluff.

Good luck, if your parents decide to get you a dog. Tell them to adopt and actually research the benefits of adoption/rescue yourself.

  8. show them you have responsibility and they won't be taking care of it a few months from now.  also give them incentives showing cute pictures and look up some articles on the web that pets make great companions and maybe throw in some statistics that families with pets turn out better and well rounded.

  9. ask them?

    bring home random pets

  10. You would have to get them to want a dog (unless of course you are an adult and then you should be asking yourself how you can afford to buy a puppy.)  Your parents need to want the dog because  they will be the ones paying for the food and the vet bills.  They will be the ones providing the dog's care when you go off to college.  They will be shelling out big bucks for the puppy in the first place.

So, you need to convince them that they want a puppy and then let them know that you will help care for it.

    Good luck.

  11. Show them that you can handle it. First start with a fish and move up to a hamster.

Read up on Dogs for Dummies and let them know that you've done your research and that you know what you're getting into. It shows that you've put time and effort and that you're serious

  12. By showing them how responsible you are.  Maybe you can work out a deal.  Like you work to pay for the puppy.  Doing things around the house, or yard work for neighbors, babysitting.  And then let them know you will pick up after the puppy, take it for walks.  You wont have much time with your friends anymore because dogs and puppies need a lot of attention.  I recommend a poodle.
