  1. idk, tell them its important to you and ask them why dont they act excited tht your willing to make tht commitment?

  2. hm. that is weird.

i got a purity ring. my parents were pretty proud. i picked one out from Tiffany's that had cutout hearts on it, its cute.

it is currently lost... but ill find it.

anyways, you just need to talk to them and tell them how important it is for you to stay pure and that having a nice ring will make you feel good, something like that.

tell them how much this ring means to you and how long you will have it. i don't know how old you are but i mean you will have it for a long time.

  3. Maybe it's because Tiffany's is expensive and also some parents are just uncomfortable and uneasy when it comes to the subject.

You could show them this link:

    http://www.purityrings.com/Products.aspx...

It might help explain it to them, or pull up other info. on what all a Purity  ring symbolizes  and copy it and let them read it. Then it won't be so awkward for them. Maybe they are just not aware of it.

I would also be happy with wherever they end up buying it for you otherwise you'll come across as being ungrateful.

    Good luck !

  4. Maybe they've not got a lot of money at the moment, or they don't realize how important of a decision it is to you. the best thing to do is to ask them to explain their decision. If it's that they don't think that it's an important decision then you need to explain why it's important to you.

If it's that money is tight you could always get a less expensive ring for now, and then get the one of your dreams later, when you can afford to buy it yourself.

If you decide to go for the latter option I have an online store - http://stores.ebay.com/The-Promise-Ring-... that sells really affordable rings.

  5. I'll lay odds that a lot of it has to do with what cbur45 said:  "it is currently lost... but ill find it".  Loosing a Tiffany ring would be a much bigger deal then loosing a less costly ring.

Add in the fact that the ring isn't the important part of the purity ring promise.  The important part is the promise itself.  If they feel like you're making the promise just to get an expensive bauble they may not be comfortable with that.

If your heart is set on the Tiffany ring then maybe sit down and discuss the option like an adult.  Really listen to why your parents don't want you to get it and then work on those objections if you can.  Like if they think you'll loose it concentrate on keeping your things organized.
