i run track and i started out the season ok, then improved a lot. my main race is the mile and 3 weeks ago I broke 6 minutes for the first time. My friend/teammate finished right behind me. my time was 5.56. lately i havent been running as well and its hard for me to push myself in races. i havent broken 6 minutes yet and yesterday the same friend i beat before ran a 5.47. i was happy for her but really bummed because she ran faster than I ever have and i am used to being faster. how can i get motivated again and have the same fire i used to?

  2. You may be starting to peak out, this happened to some girls on my cross country team. they ran so much over the summer that they couldn't keep up with their times during the season. My coach had them just take it easy for a little while, maybe you should do the same. Don't worry they are back at running to their old times now. maybe you are just pushing yourselve too much. Take it easy for a while, then just get right back at it.

  3. Just keep running . Get plenty of rest . Eat healthy. The speed will come. You may just be on a plateau for a week or so. When the next breakthrough comes, reward yourself for a job well done. The tough times make us appreciate the fast times.

  4. imagine yourself not being able to run, thus be thankful that you can run
