  1. First question has the Miranda lens got a s***w thread or a bayonet type.

If it's got a s***w thread then you need a T2 mount to make it fit your Pentax, the metering won't work and there obviously will not be autofocus.

If it's got a bayonet mount K series then it will fit straight onto the camera metering should work in manual but again no autofocus.

My advice go out and buy a Sigma 28-300  for about £170-00 I think it's available in Pentax  fitting.

  2. Sounds as if your miranda is the wrong bayonet fitting.

I have a Sigma 70-300mm Macro for my K110D + K200D, and you can get one for about £100.

Its a great lens, and if you want to see some results, message me and I will send you a link to my profile page on

  3. You might need to remove or modify the flange on the lens if it's anything like a Vivitar lens flange. Here's a link to a Vivitar lens with a flange that needs to be removed or modified to use with a Pentax DSLR.

    EDIT:

If it's the same lens as this one here, I haven't a clue. You could compare the lens mount with a Pentax lens (kit?) to see if there is a difference between the two.
