How can i get my son homeschooled, where do i begin who do i contact first. please dont say internet .?

I need to know where to go or who to talk to to get my son homeschooled were in puerto rico and he does nto speak the language, so for this yr. i want to have him homeschool please help i went to department of education in manati puerto rico and the supervisor there didnt even know , i cant remember her name but like i said its manati puerto rico their education department sucks. do i need legal advice with a home schooled child. please help i have gone to three regular schools here in my hometown they claim they have no space meanwhile the yr, is going by and my son is not in school. he will gat left back please who do i call for help.

  1. Here in Illinois, the first place to look is the local library for books on this topic (there should be several good ones).The children's librarian probably has interacted with other home school moms with kids the same age in your area.

I am not sure about homeschooling regulations in Puerto Rico, but I suspect they are probably similar to those in the U.S. I know you don't want to be referred to the internet, but there are some really good, legitimate sites that could be helpful in determining if homeschooling is right for you and your son. Try these: (The last one is a legal resource for homeschoolers and can probably advise you about international laws/guidleines for homeschooling.)
