  1. DUH, stop offering to breast feed.

  2. I dont know but the woman who made the bandaged broken boobie answer is so funny, Great answer!

  3. It's not as easy as people here may think, especially when you've allowed him to continue nursing for so long. He obviously does not need it for anything but comfort. It's all up to you and you have to be consistent and firm in your decision to stop cause it won't come from him, in fact he'll make every attempt to keep up this attachment.

When do you nurse him? More than once a day? I imagine before bed time he wants it most. That's when you have to just say no and lay in bed with him to offer him your comfort and warmth, but without the breast. It'll take time, but don't give in, otherwise any little success you might achieve will just be tossed out the window if you aren't consistent all the time.

Gently say no even if he's hysterical, offer something else instead, a bottle, a stuffed animal, holding him so he doesn't feel abandoned cause he really does not yet have the ability to cope with this, and eventually he will get the message. Be patient.

  4. why is your 2 year old still brest feeding anyways? you just need to quit doing it and start giving it a bottle or what not. they will get hungry enough to take the bottle.

  5. Stop giving the option for breast feeding.  JUST SAY NO!

  6. No is a perfectly good word.  What's he going to do, mug you and force you to breastfeed him?

Does he have a different favourite drink? You can maybe distract him with some of that when he asks to be breastfed.

  7. Wait while I stop laughing.  Your 2+ year old walks up to you and asks to breast feed?  Answer:  just stop!

  8. I think that one's obvious.... have bottle at the ready.

  9. most of these answers are crazy. I am still nursing my almost 3 year old a few times a day. it is hard to make these stubborn toddlers do what we want them to do.

the first thing I did was limit nursing to nap-time and bedtime. after a week or so of that I tried to refuse, but he was not having any of that. I told him that I was going to count to 20 then he was done. When I got to 20 I literally popped him off the nipple. Every few days I lowered the number that I counted to...the lowest number was 5.  By the time I got to 5 he would/ could go several days without nursing. He even stopped nursing at night at this point too. He still comes in the bed with me, but he just snuggles up and doesn't try to nurse.

The funniest thing he does is "smell" instead of nursing. When he asks to nurse and I tell him no he pulls out the neck of my shirt and sniffs down my shirt and says something like "mmm nite nite smell good". Soon he will be totally weaned

  10. Put band-aids over them and tell the child that they are broken.

  11. ok the bandage idea doesn't work don't do it its a waste  of time and don't listen to everyone that's says give a bottle cause as all breast feeding moms know trying to get you child to take a bottle over the tap is hard lol I still breastfeed my daughter that is almost 2 my sis did the same with her kids my niece who is 6 now stopped cold turkey on her own at about 2 1/2  around there maybe 3 one day she wanted it the next day nope she was done they know when they are ready to stop my nephew on the other hand still does nurse and he is 21/2

its not uncommon in other countries for mothers to nurse the children until 4 even 5 in other cultures only in our society it is considered Taboo this is because our society perceives b*****s as SEXUAL and not a way of provide food and nourishment to our offspring

  12. It's easy...you keep your bra and your shirt on...and give them a sippy of cow milk or water.

  13. I like the bandaid idea it might be illegle after a certain age so stop soon like today

  14. You start to reason with him. He is old enough to understand the word :"No"
