  1. I expect self taught is the best way (specially if you can find broken consoles on ebay or freecycle to practice on), as I expect you already have a good idea about what it involves, if you are looking at it for a business.

If you have a little local PC repair shop close to you, I would suggest you talk to them and see if they get any request for console repairs as if they can't do it themselves, it could give you a little test market to see if you can make a resonnable living out of it. They may even know of courses / qualifications you could get.

  2. join the navy, that is the best training available, directly transfferable to civilian life, business is unlimited afterward, you can go anywhere do anything you want

  3. Depends what kind of console. im guessing games consoles. i would say your best bet it to self teach yourself and then go onto a course so you have the upper hand then once youve fininshed the course people will be like 'oh d**n you ps3 has broke, dude that sucks, but i know a guy who will fix it!' sort of thing, then you move onto a small business. get the idea?

  4. Are you sure theres money in that?

Most consoles are covered under lengthy warranty, and those are not, are cheap, old consoles, so the owners are unlikely to pay to have them fixed.

In any case, self taught will be the only way to go. Buy some old/new and broken consoles on eBay and from second hand shops. Play around with them and read the manuals. There are no official training courses that I know of.
