Question:

How can i get myself to run faster?

every time i have to run my legs hurt so bad and yes we do stretch but when im running i cant run so fast because this just started happening i dont know how to describe this but..The back of my ankle like doesnt let me move in some weird way which causes me to run slow even with out that happening.

Can some one just please tell me how i cant get myself to run faster i have to run 2 laps everyday and i just cant seem to get used to it so PLEASE HELP

  1. I have been running for 8 years now and would recommend the following:

    I would strengthen the core: calves, quads, hams, back and abdominal (the "six pack" muscles along with the obleks), chest and arms. But when strengthening these muscles, I would focus more on the muscle endurance not the muscle bulk. For more advice for this, I would consult with a personal trainer. For the running part, I would stay flexible as it helps/contributes to your balance (so do the muscles in your core) but also helps prevent some injuries like pulled muscles and shin splints. Also, I would try to make up a schedule where you can run for X amount of days and try to have a long run. I would start off slowly, running about 2-3 miles per run for the first week and increase my mileage per week. Make sure you have the following: a good diet, hydration, sleep, a good sense on how to take care of your body, and sleep. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Good Luck!!!


  2. There is a tendon called the Achilles tendon it runs from the ball of your foot up to your calf mussel. What you are describing sounds like this tendon becomes tight when you run. Stretch the ankles by putting the front ball of your foot on like a curb and then stretch this tendon all the way down to the pavement. Do this several times a week. Stop trying to run fast right now because as you have said you can't. When running never worry about what you can't do just work towards what you want to do. Stay wth this and son you work past it. You may also go to Fleet Feet and have them to fit you in a good pair of runing shoes. Keep on trying running is good for you.

  3. well i am pretty fast at running...i am on a soccer team.....and i am the fastest on there...but my slow is mile in like 7 min i think......but u should not count while running it makes it longer....try to think about something completly opposite like what happened that day or something...listenning to music helps.......whatever u do dont stop!!!! unless its a real medical reason!!! keep it up push urself if it gets hard try to go faster and hold your stomach if it hurts...but that is the number one thing to not do is to stop.....DONT STOP

    and maybe try to go to the doctor and ask about it get two consults!!!
