  1. go to the darkside. yes, draw anime. sad truth about deviantart is that the popular ones are the anime/fanart artists. the most popular person on deviantart is bleedman and look at his stuff. anime/fanart c**p.

one thing you could do is fave/comment a lot. people will usually stop by and take-a-look when you fave/comment their work. or you could spam your page on other websites you are signed up for like myspace.

  2. I really have no idea.  I think it has to do with how many personal friends you have on there and how involved you get with it.  And subscribing always seems to help the cause.  I know how you feel.  I've been a member since about 2004 and still haven't really gotten noticed.  I'm oosa.  What's your name there?

  3. are your manipulations popular? like do famous people and famous cartoon/comic book characters and put that as your front pictures so people'll will look for it.

You should put your deviantart screen name on this, people might go to it that way and comment.

I'm personally on that website looking for talent for my headshots and for my stories.

    good luck

  4. I must admit, I've been a member for a little over a year now, and it is /hard/ to get noticed. You must either be an expert, or try getting the first comment or such on more known artists.

If you'd like, I'll watch you, and feature you in my journal. But I don't think it'll do much, I've only got 3.6K, and 35 watchers.

Oh, and my name is sukaiburu-chan on dA.

  5. Nothing short of spamming your art and page on blogs, forums, and other random places, and drawing lots of fanart and anime will help.  It's a sad truth and why many artists get discouraged on dA.

If you are interested in empty favorites, views, and comments, go fave other people's work and they'll probably come back and return the favor; some people will do a fave-for-fave or comment-for-comment if you go on certain dA forums.

If however you want criticism and feedback, sites like Concept Art provide that.  Some people on dA will also give advanced critiques if you look for posts saying such on the forums.

Just keep trying to do better and don't let the popularity contest that is dA get to you.  There are over a million people (probably) on dA and there are just trends in who is popular and not all the talented artists are going to get noticed out of all those people.

There are features with 100 of The Best [Media] with Under 100 Faves.  You can hope one day your work will get noticed in one of those.

    Don't get discouraged.
