How can i get office experience if i dont have any?

i have a good degree and perform well in interviews, but my only experience is in retail so i can never get my foot in the door for office jobs. i have spoken to recruitment agencies but they refuse to register me as i dont have the necessary experience. i have been told that i should do volunteer office work or shadow someone at an office but even that requires experience. i hope to get a graduate role for next year but for this year i need to work and get experience, whats the best way to get it? thanks

Get a job hookup by somebody you know. (Why do you want to work in an office???) I work in an office and it can be very gossipy by the women who work there. Careful what you wish for!

see if you can intern somewhere in a professional office or try to get an entry level office job part time.  That would require answering phones, making copies and what not.  Those suggestions will always be a plus.  What exactly are you looking for in work anyway?

After I graduated I went to a school called Microcomputer Education Center which was a small technical school that taught people the office field and a little computers but after I finished that I became an Intern there and stayed for about 6 months or so and that gave me the experience that I needed to get a paying job.  You can always go to those kinds of schools and talk to them and let them know your situation maybe they can let you work there for the experience only.  It's worth a shot.

You could join a company that needs volunteers. Then you could see if the type of work that you are interested in, is suitable to your tastes. You can also acquire a nice letter of reference from the company. This will be quite useful when you go to your next paying scene of employment. What shall we then say to these things? I would go through a job agency to be sent out to do some office work . Temp services offer the chance to do what you've been trained for and maybe even get better at it so that by the time you get a regular job you will feel comfortable & do well. Some temp agencies even teach you some skills in their office or allow you to practice the skills you already have if you're rusty.

take an office occupations course. they usually are only a couple of months.

Whatever ofc you can get in, make sure it has more men than women because a fate worse than death is working in any ofc that has mostly women they'll make your life a living h**l.

no way there are loads of admin jobs no experience necessary thats how i got my job! forget agencies search your self if you are from the uk search on job centre plus and connexions also secsinthecity.co.uk
