How can i get on medicaid in florida when i move im 6 months pregnant !?

i current live in iowa and my prenatal care is free to me because i am under medicaid and title 19 which is an awesome oppurtunity! i am really wanting to move down to florida but im worried about getting health care cuz i can not afford it. how can i get on medicaid right away when i go to florida .. cuz ill have to start seeing a dr. every 2 weeks !! i dont want to be uninsured when the baby comes !!

  1. Sorry to be asking, but how can you afford to move to Florida when you have no job and can't even pay for your own health insurance?  Moving is expensive, even if you don't have that much stuff to move (particularly with gas at $4.00 a gallon).

    If you have any amount of stability in Iowa, you might want to consider staying put, as you won't have that in Florida.  Not to mention that the cost of living is much higher in Florida than in Iowa.


  2. Once you are a resident and they confirm it, then you should be able to be covered right away. However, states vary as far as how much coverage they provide, so you might want to check that out before you go.

  3. Go apply for Medicaid when you get moved to Florida.If you get  it where you are now, then  I am pretty sure you'll get it down there.
