Question:

How can i get over being deathly afraid of the dark?

i sseriously have to sleep with my light on, and even that doesn't help.

  1. make friends with the creatures in the dark. know you are more powerful than them.


  2. Go camping, but late at night sneak away and go far from your campsite, and lie down on the forest floor in the pitch black, and listen to the forest noises.

    Still laying there, make forest noises of your own, shuffle around, and be a creature of the night.

  3. Reason that if you can't see them, they can't see you.

  4. I am the same way. I blame this on my parents and the movies. Since the day I was born my mom left a lamp on in my room. It got to where I could not sleep in the dark even as a teenager. To this day I still need a light on.The movies are no better with people and creatures sneaking up on you in the dark. I even put a chair back under the doorknob of the closet.

  5. Sleeping with a night light helps, but you could also sleep with a stuffed animal.  Knowing that something is there with you like a favourite teddy bear, or a lucky blanket helps.

  6. Try lowering the level of light in the room each night until it is dark.
