  1. all you have to do is go one. start with the small rollercoasters and when you feel comfortable enough, go for the big ones.

the best way to get over a fear is to face it

  2. Try a dark (indoor) coaster first if they have one.  That way you won't have to see what is coming at you.  Also, try and hit the coasters with the shortest wait first.  The biggest part of being scared of a coaster is psycological and the longer you are standing in line for, the longer your nervousness will build inside.

  3. start with the small rides and work up the intensity, believe that these rides are totally safe and you can't get hurt. Fear is a natural human instinct and reaction that everyone experiences to keep you safe. Either get used to the thrill, or just try different rides. Everyone has different reactions and responses to different stimuli which you cant control, which is totally fine.

  4. My older sister is just like that with roller coasters, but I finally got her to ride millenium force. Now she loves it. The best advice I can  give you is to start out small. Get used to it first. I personally like the steel coasters best, because they tend to be a smoother ride. Also if you are too nervous in line it can actually affect what you think of the ride. You will probably like it better if you think you will like it. It's mostly a mind over matter thing.

  5. oh i went to cedar point a week ago. heres my advice:

go on something thats not as intense. I'd suggest the Blue Streak first- it's not too scary, not too lame, and its close to the entrance

then ya know, if u like it, u will feel like raising the intensity!

oh, and the iron dragon doesnt look as cool as it is, just so ya know

  6. I had the same fear, but i went to a roller coaster park with some of my friends and i just got on a roller coaster and i  closed my eyes and held on tight to the bars. And it was over before i knew it, and every since then i love roller coaster.

Good luck. and i hope you overcome your fear.

  7. well, i used to be scared shitless by roller coasters (: shhhh, don't tell

i started actually liking them when i went on one because i didn't want to disappoint my friends. i mean, you're really ruining everyone's fun when you refuse to participate. it makes other people feel like "gosh why did she even come?" you know? so i was in line with my friends who were all so talkative and gushing about how excited they were and i was shaking and stuttering and feeling like i was gonna pee in my pants. when that roller coaster BOOMED off, i was screaming my head off. but..i had a lot of fun (:

i think it was because first, i knew the roller coaster was safe and millions of people had gone on it before me.  second, i kept thinking that it'd be over in a minute because really, it will be over in a minute and then you're all proud of yourself for conquering your fear. and third, i hated the feeling of dropping but i concentrated on what i did like, which was the feel of the wind and the speed and being able to see EVERYTHING at the top of it.

i really hope you go on roller coasters and have a good time. just try one. willpower's all it takes. and you might like it

just try not to chicken out :)
