  1. that sounds like a VERY worthy club that all students can participate in.i'm glad you're active and that your school sponsors this club.your school officials;principle,vice-principle,whoev... is next in the chain, should then file a request with the city or county school board, then they'll budget it in for the school.i know you don't want to hear this but if you would write an essay on what benefits it will have on the community, they like to hear that.all club members  need to endorse it,as well.also, you could present your proposal to the board at its next meeting, yourself.hearing from you would make it more personal,as you are an end user.just do it.it makes them look good at  election time when they tell the community they got your proposal passed.everyone wins!!!;your club, the environment, and the council or board.go get 'em... :)

  2. Hello,

As some have previously stated, engaging your business community to provide the bins is a nice way for them to give back to the schools.

Additionally, one member also suggested engaging the woodshop to create bins out of old shipping pallets.  That's a great idea...especially if this is a problem for your school to get rid of.

Along those same lines, have an art teach pick this up as an assignment for one or more of their classes.  Take the cardboard boxes that your school's paper comes in and have the class decorate them with materials.  You can then put these in each classroom as they get created.  You can even expand this to be a project for the club (and other in the school).  Again, contacting local businesses for boxes is a way to get enough for the whole school.

The nice part is that when these bins need to be replaced you can put them right into your cardboard recycling container.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Try talking to the principal or the local garbage people.....  WE ALL NEED TO RECYCLE!!

  4. Oh! We have a Key Club at my school too! But our's is more about doing community service. Wow, I wish we had a club on our campus that dealt with the enviroment!

You can contact your local recylcing center or local stores that carry bins.

Say that if they donate bins that you'll put a sign on them that say "Donated by ________"

    good luck!

  5. do you have woodcraft classes in usa schools, you could make bins from recycled wood shipping crates or pallets. this would be greener than any plastic bins. lets not forget that plastics are a major worldwide environmental problem.

  6. Ask local hardware stores or other business to donate them and then put a flyer or something on the bin that  says generously donated by ________.  It's extra advertisement.

  7. Call your County Conservation Office!!!  They would love to help you with this project, and they'll know who to send you to for funding.  Great idea!  Keep up the good work.
