How can i get rid of ants in my house and will it help if i block the opening of the nest?

i found small brown ants under the living room carpet and when i followed them i found that they enter a small opening in the wood that serrounds the door

I use Amdro is the yard it's really good stuff.  In the house I use "Terro".  It's a liquid and only takes a drop or two in the area where you see the ants.  And it works amazing fast!  I don't think blocking then entrance will help much.  They're really small and will find another way in.

Get amdro and bait. They love it, they take it back to the nest, the ants party and die.

Use a mix of cinnamon and sugar. The ants will pick up the sugar, along with the cinnamon, and take it back to their queen. Ants can’t digest cinnamon and once the queen dies from not being able to digest the cinnamon the colony will die without her.
