Yah, me too, they really swarmed up one day and night and I vacuumed them up.

Boric acid works well.  Ants shouldn't cross over it....

sprinkle it around windows, behind the fridge, and anywhere you see them a lot.....keep it away from food, though.

First you need to figure out what they are after & clean that up.  If they are after sugar, seal your sugary stuff in plastic containers so they can't get at it.  

Second, how are they getting in.  Seal up cracks, caulk around windows.

I had a big problem about a month ago.  I used ant block granuels across the front door & outside windows.  I have a brick house that has what they call weeping holes at the base to get rid of moisture.  I put bay leafs in each weeping hole.  No more ants.  Have not seen one since we did the leaves.

There are a lot of suggestions, some didn't work for me.  The borax didn't work, neither did the ant traps.
