  1. eyJude has the Best Answer for you.

Do what she said. It's your unique chance.

BORAX, I have heard of it, but didn't need it ....

But you DO what eyJude said!

  2. It's a terrible thing to watch cats ceaselessly scratching themselves because of fleas. Take them to your vet and ask for Advantage. The product is terrific! The vet will give them a pill as well to kill the eggs that are on them. Advantage is like an oil that come in small vials. It worked on my cat almost immediately.

  3. Your kittens probably came to your house with fleas eggs and now that they have hatched they are uncontrollable.  Most flea medicines do not recommend being used on kittens, however frontline is an excellent product that I have used on all my puppies (I am a breeder).  You can buy single doses if you are on a tight budget at your vet.  I would recommend that.  Also make sure you bomb your house, I have used Raid products you can find at your local grocery.  Just be sure to lock the kittens in the garage or keep them away from the house while bombing so they don't get sick.  Chances are the fleas are already laying eggs in your house, so you want to get those before they hatch, and vacuuming will not get them all.

  4. I don't know how old kittens have to be to use it,  but Frontline works perfectly!  I know it is expensive but it is worth it!  At least try it on the outdoor cat if the kittens are too young.

  5. Dump the flea collar - highly toxic to the cat and pretty much worthless on the fleas.  Put all the cats on Advantage or Frontline Plus - the kittens are old enough now.

  6. Get rid of the cats. Simple~

  7. Had a problem similar to yours except my four cats didn't go out at all. have no idea how fleas got started but it took me 9months to get rid of them! Your outdoor cat is bringing them in and their living on the kittens. Just keep vacuuming daily and throw out the bag each time, use a flea comb daily and drown fleas in soapy water, spray your carpet with a vet quality product. Don't overdue the flea baths on kittens. It might harm them with the chemicals being on their skin so much. Use the comb instead.

  8. Giving them flea baths everyday is not necessarily good for your kittens, especially at 9 weeks.

What you may want to use is one of those applied flea formulas.  When my cats had fleas, I did wash them all ONCE to get rid of as many fleas as possible. I also used Advantage (Revolution is also good if you live in a tick prone area), which killed the remainder of the fleas.  A few solid days of vacuuming any eggs, other fleas also helped to rid myself of the flea problem.

You should also have your outdoor cat treated with Advantage/Revolution too.

By the way, it's not necessarily your outdoor cat who brings in the fleas.  You could be bringing in fleas too.

  9. YOUR HOUSE HAS FLEAS... and thier bed does too.

You will have to use a flea comb (it's also called a head lice comb)

here is how to get rid of the fleas in your home and not make it poisonous for the kittens.

    IF YOUR HOUSE HAS FLEAS….

I have a NATURAL remedy for getting rid of fleas in your house.

Go to the Store and buy some 20 Mule Team BORAX.

Then sprinkle it all over. Carpets, couch, bedding, pillows, pet beds, car, even wood floors. (NOT ON YOUR PET!)

    THEN VACCUME IT UP.

What Boax does is coats the eggs ... The eggs hatch deformed or unable to reproduce.

You will have to do this 2 or 3x about a week apart in order to get all the egg cycles.

FOR YOUR PET. Use the flea killer that is on the market or use a flea comb (this is also a head lice comb) especially for kittens or puppys who are too young to have insecticide put on them.

Kill the fleas that you find on the comb with soap or alcohol
