How can i get some privacy?

Well i am 14 and "exploring myself". And my parents just barge in they dont care if they see me or not. SO tomorrow i am goin school shoping so should i just ask my dad (cause ima dude) if i they can start kncking or something? cause i thought its be kinda awkward to talk to my mum. cause if they ever saw me doing it id be soooo upset. any advice or self stories would help me thanks

Yes you have every right to ask your parents to please knock on your door before entering and not just because you are self discovering.  You could be dressing.  It is simply plain respect for one another to knock.  You might want to make a sign to put outside your door that says "Please knock before entering" if they have a problem with that tell them that you don't want either you or them to be embarrassed if they should open the door to something they don't want to see.

i undestand you would like some privacy and yes they should respect you as their son before barging in on you.. but

why do you need to be doing it any way..  do you have a problem with insecurity.

do you have a low self image of your self.. if its a problem for you talk to dad or seek some professional help

tell your dad your at the age that you would like some privacy and see if he would consider getting a lock for your door. i doubt you would need to tell him much more then that.

You are absolutely right, it is normal for everyone to to it, so by all means ask your dad to please give you the respect of allowing you some privacy. You could even ask for a lock for your door, assuring him that you just would like it in order to have private moments. I am sure that he will understand. If for some reason he doesn't, make use of "extended shower times".
