How can i get sound from my TV to my Stereo?

I want to get the regular antenna TV sound from my Konka television to my JVC radio, i have tried connecting the red and white cables but no luck..

You need a "line in" or "aux in" input in your stereo to do this

you need to have an audio output on your tv.  most tvs have video and audio input (yellow white red)  make sure your not using an input, if your tv has a headphone jack, you can use that, just go to your local electronics store, and pick up a 3.5mm to rca L+R male, connect it to the red and white aux imput on your  stereo and your set

You may have to select external audio in the TV set-up menu.  Go to "audio" and see if there is a selection available between internal speakers and external output.
